Our commitment
Scout is committed to making Lantern and the Parent App accessible to children and parents with disabilities. We design with accessibility in mind and continuously work to improve.
Standards we aim for
We aim to comply with:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA for our web surfaces (consent app, Parent App web, marketing Site)
- Apple Accessibility Guidelines for the Parent App iOS version (when launched)
- Android Accessibility for the Parent App Android version (when launched)
These are voluntary commitments; full WCAG conformance is not yet claimed. We are actively working toward it.

TBD once mobile launches.
Lantern device
TBD. Accessibility considerations include:
- Voice-driven interaction (helpful for children with motor disabilities)
- Visual reading mode (helpful for children with hearing differences)
- TBD: support for AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) devices
- TBD: support for hearing aids and cochlear implant audio routing

We respond within five (5) business days.
Independent review
We plan to commission an independent accessibility audit annually. Results will be published or summarized in this document.
